Mehmet Sabır Kiraz, Assoc. Prof., PhD

Mehmet Sabır Kiraz completed his bachelor's from Mathematics department at Middle East Technical University in 2000. He worked at IT departments of Pamukbank and Yapi Kredi Bank as software engineer between June-2000 and September-2002. In October-2002, he started his M.Sc. studies (with full scholarship) at International Max Planck Research Institute for Computer Science, Germany and finished in November-2003. His thesis title is "Formalization and Verification of Informal Security Protocol Description". He then finished his Ph.D. from Computer Science department at Eindhoven Technical University, the Netherlands in March-2008. His thesis title is "Secure and Fair Two-Party Computation". He then worked at PHILIPS, Eindhoven and TOMTOM, Amsterdam as a test coordinator between 2008 and 2010. Since January 2010 he has been working as a chief researcher and director of Blockchain Research lab ( at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM. His main research interests include Cryptographic Protocols, Privacy, Secure Multi-Party Computation, Zero-Knowledge Protocols, Homomorphic Encryption, Threshold Cryptography, Pairing-Based Cryptography, Electronic Voting, Cloud Security, Blockchain (public and permissioned), Cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, privacy coins like ZCash, Monero, and other altcoins).


İsa Sertkaya, PhD

İsa Sertkaya joined to TÜBİTAK BİLGEM UEKAE in 2002 after receiving his B.Sc. degree in Mathematics at Middle East Technical University in 2002. In 2004, he completed his M.Sc. studies in Cryptography at Institute of Applied Mathematics, Middle East Technical University. After involvind in various cryptography related projects in BİLGEM UEKAE, in 2012 he promoted to be a Chief Researcher and in 2013 he anticipaded in foundation of the Mathematical and Computational Labs at BİLGEM UEKAE. He completed his Ph.D. studies on Boolean functions in Cryptography at Institute of Applied Mathematics, Middle East Technical University in 2014. His main research interests include Privacy enhancing technologies, pairing-based cryptography, cloud computing security and privacy, cryptocurrencies, blockchain technologies, symmetric key cryptography, S-Boxes and Boolean Functions. He also gives graduate lectures at Middle East Technical University and İstanbul Şehir University.


Öznur Arabacı

Öznur Arabacı achieved her bachelor's and masters degree in Mathematics at Koc University in 2012 and 2014, respectively. She has been working at TUBITAK BILGEM since 2015, and studies on security and privacy in cloud, elliptic curve cryptography, bilinear pairing sand cryptographic protocols. She continues her doctoral studies at Gebze Technical University in Mathematics department.


Ahmet Çakmak

Ahmet Cakmak received his bachelor of science degree in Computer Engineering at Yildiz Technical University. Since 2013, he is working as researcher at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM. He has worked in areas such as system administration, designing and maintaning network security, genome sequencing pipeline. His main research interests are network and security problems in cloud computing infrastructure, development of privacy preserving methods for cloud computing. Currently, he continues his MSc studies in Cybersecurity Engineering at Istanbul Sehir University.


Berk Bavaş

Berk Bavaş received his BSc degree in Mathematics at Bilkent University in 2015. After his graduation, he started to get his MSc degree at Bilkent Univesity in Mathematics. He has been working as a researcher at TUBITAK BILGEM since 2017. His main areas of research are privacy and security of cloud computing and cryptographic protocols.


Selçuk Kayacan, PhD

Selçuk Kayacan graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University with a degree in Mathematics in 2006. He completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics Engineering Programme at İstanbul Technical University in 2010 and 2016, respectively. He also worked as a research assistant at the same university from 2009 to 2016 and he was a visiting scholar at Graz Technical University for a duration of one year in 2015 with TÜBİTAK 2214/A fellowship. Selçuk Kayacan currently works at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM. His main research interests include Algebraic Number Theory, Group Theory, and Graph Theory.
